Steam On Linux Use Hit A Recent High Of 2.69% During May

VALVE

Valve just published the Steam Survey results for May 2025 with a nice increase for the Linux gaming marketshare.

Valve’s monthly data for the Steam gaming client shows a nice 0.42% rise for Linux gaming use, now up to 2.69%. This is while macOS ended May at 1.85% and Windows was at 95.45%. While 2.69% may not seem like much, it’s been one of the highest points of the Steam Survey for Linux use in a while in percentage terms. In absolute terms given the continuing to grow Steam userbase overall, it’s likely the largest ever in absolute terms for Linux gamers – especially with Steam OS and the Steam Deck continuing to enjoy much adoption by gamers.
