TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Mount Gede Pangrango National Park Center (TNGGP) has forcibly removed 2,658 illegal hikers from Mount Gede-Pangrango, West Java, during the long holiday from May 29 to June 1, 2025. The hikers without official climbing permits were given guidance by officials.
The Head of the Data, Evaluation, Reporting, and Public Relations Working Group of TNGGP, Agus Deni, in Cianjur on Sunday, said that there were locations suspected of being illegal climbing routes. The TNGGP National Park Center stationed officers at these locations 24 hours a day during the long holiday period.
