A 24-year-old woman who represented Ireland in boxing has pleaded guilty to assault causing serious to harm to a relative in Mullingar over a year ago.
Mary Nevin, of Austin Friar Street, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, appeared before Mullingar Circuit Court where she pleaded guilty to the offence, which occurred on Austin Friar Street on 23 May 2024.
Defence Barrister Shane Geraghty BL told the court the accused had two children including a five-month-old baby, who she is still breastfeeding.
He said the assault was a “disproportionate reaction”.
