Mary Immaculate College have booked their place in the Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup final after a dramatic 0-31 to 2-16 victory over DCU this evening.
This was a thrilling contest throughout, one which DCU looked like winning for long stretches.
Westmeath native Peter Clarke had a big influence on the game, scoring a couple of key goals either side of the halftime break. While DCU were just ahead coming into the final quarter, Mary I remained within touching distance throughout.
Kilkenny man Shane Walsh was key in keeping the scoreboard ticking over for Mary I, showing some remarkable dead ball abaility in this one. He would score 0-9 (0-8 from placed balls) in the second half to keep his side in the game.
