A spokesperson for the Indonesian military said on Monday that Jakarta is preparing 1,000 personnel for potential deployment to the Gaza Strip by early April as part of a proposed multinational peacekeeping force.
Military spokesperson Donny Pramono stated that the final decision will be made by President Prabowo Subianto, adding that the total number of troops ready for deployment will reach 8,000 by June.
In a text message, he said: “The departure schedule remains entirely subject to the state’s political decisions and the relevant international mechanisms.”
