MacKinnon, Bennett absent from Canada’s practice ahead of QF; Morrissey and Marchand present

Team Canada head coach Jon Cooper said he expects to have every player available in the quarter-finals after star forward Nathan MacKinnon and centre Sam Bennett were both absent from Canada’s practice Tuesday.

Hockey Canada said it was a maintenance day for both players one day after the team’s quarter-final which will be against the winner of Czechia-Denmark later on Tuesday.

“No panic,” Cooper said of the status of the two forwards.

Defenceman Josh Morrissey and forward Brad Marchand were both on the ice for the session and took part in line rushes.
