The Mexico Ministry of Health has reported four measles related deaths since the beginning of the year and 31 total deaths since the outbreak began in early 2025.
The fatalities are distributed in 8 states: Chihuahua 21, Jalisco 3, Sonora 1, Durango 2, Michoacán 1, Tlaxcala 1, Mexico City 1 and Chiapas 1.
From January 1 to February 16, 2026, Mexico has reported 3,418 confirmed cases with 1,995 cases in Jalisco state.
From 2025 to 2026 to date, 9,850 confirmed measles cases have been reported.
Of the cumulative total of confirmed cases from 2025–2026, all 32 states have reported cases of measles distributed across 354 municipalities.
