PS6 Release Reportedly Pushed Back to 2028 or 2029

Sony is allegedly considering delaying the release of PlayStation 6 to 2028 or 2029.

According to a Bloomberg report, the information was shared by sources familiar with the company’s thinking. It is also noted that the alleged decision to delay the release of PS6 might challenge PlayStation’s strategy of keeping players engaged across console generations. 

Nintendo also reportedly plans to implement changes in its console sales and is considering a price rise for the Switch 2 console this year. The alleged reason for the delay and a price rise is a memory chip shortage. Currently, there’s no official confirmation of this information from Sony or Nintendo.
