Huskies Split Saturday Slate at the Gulf Coast Classic

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The UConn softball team split their two matchups on day two of the Gulf Coast Classic on Saturday. The Huskies fell to Louisville in game one, 10-2 in five innings. UConn bounced back in game two, defeating Florida Gulf Coast, 4-3. The Huskies move to 3-10 overall this season.  

Game One

Freshman Caprice Bohmer (Ashburn, Va.) made her 6th start of the season in game one for the Huskies. Bohmer went 2.2 innings giving up nine runs on six hits with three strikeouts. 

Louisville jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning. 

In the 3rd inning, freshman infielder Ava Calciano (Lewes, Del.) opened the scoring for the Huskies with an RBI triple to center field, scoring Savannah Ring
