Section of new N5 road to open by Easter – News

A section of the new N5 will open by Easter, it has emerged.

Roscommon County Council CEO Shane Tiernan confirmed the news at a council meeting this evening, Monday.

Mr Tiernan informed councillors that the Frenchpark bypass is set to open by Easter “subject to safety verifications being signed off on before then”. 

He outlined that the exits and the entrances along this portion would have to be controlled for a number of weeks in order for works to be completed and “fully blended in”.

This section of the new road is seven kilometres long.
