Two hospitalised as apartment fire breaks out in Swords

Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the scene and quickly got the blaze under control

An apartment fire broke out in north Dublin in the early hours of Wednesday morning, leaving two people hospitalised.

Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the scene in Holywell in Swords just before 1am. Five fire engines, including a turntable ladder and emergency tender, attended the blaze.

There were also two ambulances in attendance, from Swords and Finglas fire stations. They treated four people at the scene, with two of these taken to hospital.
