Sadness in Donegal as local chef dies in A5 collision

There is deep sadness across Donegal following the death of a man in a road traffic collision on the A5 road in Co Tyrone.

Brighton Mafuta, aged 36, was killed in a crash on Monday night in the area of Garvaghy, between Omagh and Ballygawley.

The collision between a white Audi A6 and a silver Nissan Micra occurred at around 10.15pm.

Mr Mafuta, the driver of the Nissan Micra, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Mafuta is a former player of Donegal Town FC and the club paid tribute to a man who played in their title-winning team of 2013.

“He showed great dedication, travelling afar to play despite not living nearby anymore,” Donegal Town FC said.
