CBSE has introduced an on-screen evaluation system for the Class 12 board examinations starting in 2026, aiming to improve efficiency, transparency, and the speed of assessment. Under the CBSE OSM system, answer scripts are scanned and uploaded to a digital platform — CBSE Onmark (cbse.onmark.co.in) — where teachers evaluate responses through a computer-based interface.
Although the board has presented this initiative as a move toward modernisation, several teachers involved in the evaluation process have raised concerns, stating that the implementation was rushed and that the training provided was insufficient.
