Ottawa Senators’ defenceman Jake Sanderson out week-to-week

Ottawa Senators defenceman Jake Sanderson is week-to-week with an upper-body injury, head coach Travis Green told reporters Monday afternoon.

The update comes at a poor time for the Senators, who are five points back of the Boston Bruins for the final playoff spot with five weeks left in the season.

The blueliner was hurt in Saturday’s game against the Seattle Kraken when he left the game in the second period and did not return. Sanderson went to retrieve a puck in the corner and was hit hard into the boards by Brandon Montour.
