Missile strikes US embassy compound in Iraq

A missile struck a helipad in the US embassy compound in Baghdad on Saturday, Reuters reported, citing two Iraqi security officials.

There was a column of smoke rising over the compound on Saturday morning, the sources said.

Also on Saturday, some oil loading operations at the port in Fujairah, UAE, outside the Strait of Hormuz, were suspended due to a fire caused by a drone attack, according to Bloomberg News.

The emirate’s media office clarified that the fire was caused by falling debris from an intercepted drone, but did not provide any information on the reported suspension of operations.
