If you’ve noticed, Google has been silently killing its beloved weather experience on Android, replacing the clean, full-screen interface with generic search results. So if you were relying on Google Weather on your homescreen for a quick forecast, you’ve probably noticed that it feels off.
Sure, there are Android weather apps that have great design and accuracy, but few match up to Google Weather in terms of simplicity and OS integration. That said, there are better options around. Loosing Google Weather turned out not to be as bad as I thought, because it forced me to discover Weawow.
What Google took away
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Google tried.
