FBC: Firebreak was meant to be a proof-of-concept: a genre-bending Control spinoff that swapped story-driven surrealism for cooperative multiplayer antics. It was also, notably, Remedy’s first stab at self-publishing.
Yet, after less than a year on shelves, Remedy has confirmed it will no longer be releasing major content updates for FBC: Firebreak.
The Finnish studio said it will ensure the title remains online and playable for “years to come,” and explained engineering work has been completed to ensure relay server structure can be sustainably maintained even with lower player volumes.
A permanent price drop has also been issued to make the game more accessible to new players. As of today, the base game will cost $19.99 while the deluxe edition will retail for $29.99.
