Tamaulipas Guarantees Universal Access to Rita Cetina Scholarship
Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas – The government of Tamaulipas is ensuring all primary school students in public schools have access to the “Rita Cetina Scholarship,” providing financial support for uniforms and school supplies. Registration modules have been set up across the state to facilitate enrollment, with a deadline of March 19, 2026.
Expanding Access to Educational Support
Nora Hilda de los Reyes Vázquez, Undersecretary of Basic Education, announced the initiative, representing Secretary of Education Miguel Ángel Valdez García. She encouraged families to register their children for the scholarship, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring no child is left behind, echoing the motto of the President of the Republic.
Registration Details
Families can register for the Rita Cetina Scholarship through two primary methods:
- Online: Via the official website www.becaritacetina.gob.mx
- In-Person: Using the Single Format for Basic Education Beneficiaries (FUBEB) at registration modules located in schools, Regional Educational Development Centers (CREDE), municipal auditoriums, cultural centers, and even the El Mundo Nuevo Convention Center in Matamoros, as well as Banco del Bienestar facilities.
Currently, 48 registration modules are available throughout Tamaulipas.
Scholarship Benefits
The Rita Cetina Scholarship provides 2,500 pesos every two months, specifically allocated for the purchase of uniforms and school supplies. This benefit is particularly impactful for families with multiple children or those facing economic hardship. For a family with three children, the scholarship amounts to 7,500 pesos, significantly aiding in covering educational expenses.
Enrollment Progress
As of March 18, 2026, approximately 64 percent of the roughly 298,000 public primary school students in Tamaulipas have enrolled in the program. Officials are optimistic that the remaining eligible students will register before the March 19th deadline.
Collaboration for Educational Advancement
The initiative is a result of collaborative efforts between the federal government and the state government of Tamaulipas, under the leadership of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya and President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, demonstrating a shared commitment to equitable access to education.
