Two cousins lined out against each other last night in the Connacht U-20 Football Championship.
The Carroll family from Kilmore continues to produce top-level goalkeepers. Mark Carroll was subsititute goalkeeper for Roscommon last night in Tuam, while his cousin Brian Carroll was Galway’s replacement shot stopper.
Brian, who is a brother of Roscommon goalkeeper Conor Carroll, saw Galway secure a 3-10 to 1-11 victory at Tuam Stadium last night.
Conor and Brian are sons of Brendan and Eithne Carroll. Conor plays his club football with St. Brigid’s, while Brian lines out for Oranmore/Maree in Galway.
Meanwhile, Conor Carroll and his cousin Aaron Brady are currently competing for the number one jersey for Mark Dowd’s senior side.
