Sleepal has unveiled details of its AI Sleep Tracking Lamp with Matter compatibility, a bedside device that centres on non-contact sleep tracking combined with adaptive lighting (NB, not Apple’s Adaptive Lighting feature), ahead of a planned launch on Kickstarter.
At its core, the AI lamp is designed to monitor sleep passively from the bedside. Rather than relying on wearables or under-mattress hardware, the device uses mmWave (millimetre wave) sensing to detect presence and fine movement, allowing for more precise tracking of sleep and wake states without physical contact. This is paired with additional sensing, including audio monitoring for snoring detection, enabling the device to identify disturbances that may affect sleep quality.
