Marlins watch Artemis II launch on flight to New York

Frank Sinatra’s “Theme from New York, New York” might be the anthem played at Yankee Stadium, but the Marlins will be humming another iconic tune by Ol’ Blue Eyes this weekend because of a once-in-a-lifetime view.

After Sandy Alcantara tossed the fifth shutout of his career on Wednesday afternoon at loanDepot park, the Marlins flew out of Miami headed to the Big Apple for a three-game series against the Yankees, beginning on Friday.

It just so happens that NASA’s Artemis II launch, which sent up four astronauts from the Kennedy Space Center on Florida’s Space Coast, was visible from the right side of the Marlins’ charter flight.
