Leaked Mass Effect 5 Trailer Sparks Fan Frenzy Over New Quarian Squadmate

An internal trailer for the canceled Mass Effect 5, titled Mass Effect Universe, leaked online following Electronic Arts shutting down BioWare and shedding 400 jobs to cut costs. The footage revealed a James Bond-esque sci-fi vibe featuring an older Liara T'Soni and an unnamed, roguish male Quarian squadmate. Fans have reacted intensely to the companion, fueling online passion and driving a save-the-game petition past 170,000 signatures alongside plans for a billboard outside Electronic Arts headquarters. The leaks also include alleged story details describing a galactic Cold War and a customizable N7 protagonist.
