Why Did Netflix Boot Bela Bajaria?

Netflix fired chief content officer Bela Bajaria on Thursday, replacing her with former Walt Disney Company general entertainment chairman Peter Rice. The abrupt dismissal occurred during a week of major layoffs and stock struggles at the streaming giant. Bajaria spent 10 years at Netflix, overseeing the vast majority of its television shows and movies, and was widely regarded as too big to fail before her departure. The leadership change comes as the company attempts to arrest a declining share price and address broader growth concerns.
