Xbox Disc-To-Digital Officially Exits Testing

Microsoft has released its disc-to-digital licensing feature to the public, allowing owners of Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles to convert eligible physical game discs into digital licenses. The system requires users to verify physical copies so they can play without inserting the disc. Following an initial trial through the Xbox Insider Program that began on August 31, 2026, the wider availability officially rolled out on September 29, 2026. Meanwhile, publisher support continues to grow as companies like Sega join the compatible lineup.
