I’m clinical director of neurosurgery and the neurosciences at Beaumont Hospital, and while I love my job, it’s challenging, which is a very important thing to say. If you don’t believe that neurosurgery is complicated and challenging, you’re not going to succeed at it because there are hard-luck stories and bad outcomes, and they can be very upsetting.
