New one-way system for Wexford moves a step closer – ‘In fixing one problem, they’re creating another’

The proposal would see one-way traffic moving along School Street, from the junction with Grogan’s Road, right along John Street and all the way to the junction at the top of Hill Street.

Traffic would move from School Street to Hill Street, with any cars wishing to move in the opposite direction sent up Davitt Road and onto Grogan’s Road or Talbot Green.

In a presentation to elected members, Borough Engineer Éilis Furlong said that the results of a survey showed that of the average daily traffic of 2,585 vehicles per day, 72% were travelling south to north – towards Hill Street. Ms Furlong said that currently there are five separate locations on School Street and John Street…
