Golden Ace was a shock winner of an incredible Unibet Champion Hurdle, in which both Constitution Hill and State Man crashed out – the latter clear as he jumped the last in front.
The Nicky Henderson-trained Constitution Hill, previously winner of the race in 2023, fell relatively early in the race, to the shock his trainer in the grandstand.
Brighterdaysahead looked set to battle it out with State Man up the hill, with the Willie Mullins’ trained horse stretching out in front over the closing stages, looking set to make it back-to-back wins in the race.
However, the Paul Townend-ridden leader fell at the last, provoking yet more gasps from the crowd.
