Introduction
External auditory canal carcinoma (EACC) is a rare tumor in head and neck malignancies, representing approximately 0.2% of these malignancies.1,2 The pathological types of EACC include squamous cell carcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, and mucoepidermoid carcinoma, among others.3,4 Squamous cell carcinoma is the most prevalent type, accounting for about 80% of all EACC cases.5 Common clinical symptoms of EACC include ear pain (otalgia), ear discharge (otorrhea), bleeding, neck masses, facial numbness, headaches, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), a feeling of fullness in the ear, and hearing loss.
