Sociocultural factors influencing women’s adherence to colorectal, breast, and cervical cancer screening: a systematic review | BMC Public Health

A total of 1523 studies were found during the initial search of the included databases. After removing duplicate articles and the process of primary and secondary screening, 53 papers were considered for inclusion in this study. The qualifying papers were evaluated using the MMAT to guarantee that they were of high quality. No article was removed because it was deemed to have a low risk.

Characteristics of included studies

Tables 2, 3 and 4 shows the characteristics of the 53 studies that were part of the systematic review. These characteristics include the study’s purpose, year of publication, country of research, type of cancer screening studied in the article, study design, participant characteristics, and theories used in the study.
