Mayor of Letterkenny Ciaran Brogan has announced plans to host receptions recognising the contributions of two prominent local figures.
Cllr Brogan received council approval today to honour Ben Sweeney, owner of the long established Ben Sweeney Euronics, and Consultant Breast and General Surgeon, Mr Michael Sugrue.
Cllr Brogan hailed Mr Sweeney as one of the town’s longest serving businessmen, who can still be seen opening the gates of his shop every day at 8am.
Mr Sweeney founded his business, Ben Sweeney Electrical, on the Port Road more than 50 years ago. The company expanded to Dungloe in 1995 and later joined the Euronics group.
