Panthers’ Greer to have phone hearing for boarding Flames’ Zary

Florida Panthers forward A.J. Greer will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Sunday for boarding Calgary Flames forward Connor Zary.

The hearing will be over the phone, according to TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston.

The incident occurred with just under nine minutes remaining in the third when Greer shoved Zary in the numbers and sent him tumbling face-first into the boards. The 24-year-old centre stayed down and clutched at his upper-back/neck area before eventually skating off the ice and going down the tunnel under his own power accompanied by a trainer.
