The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defenseman David Jiricek (pronounced YEER-ih-check) on a two-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $1.5M, according to General Manager Daniel Briere.
Jiricek, 22 (11/28/2003), was acquired by the Flyers from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward Bobby Brink at the trade deadline and has since appeared in 10 games with Philadelphia’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He has recorded two goals and 10 points with the Phantoms, matching his output from his time with the Iowa Wild, where he tallied 10 points in 24 games prior to the trade.
