The morning of March 30 began like any other in Kothanur, a quiet, tree-lined neighbourhood in Bengaluru. A low hum pervaded a residential complex, waking up to another Monday. Inside one apartment, however, a life had already ended. Within minutes, another would follow.
Bhanu Chander Reddy, a young software engineer, was found hanging in his home. Soon after, Shazia, his wife of nine years, discovered his body. After informing the authorities, she went up to the 17th floor of the building and jumped to her death.
