Great Start for Bassitt, Jays Beat Orioles

Orioles 1 Blue Jays 3

I love watching Chris Bassitt battle. Today, he gave up eight hits and two walks but just one earned run in his six innings. He also had seven strikeouts. He did a terrific job against a very good offense. The only run scored against him was on a passed ball that Tyler Heineman likely should have blocked (but Tyler made up for it with a home run later in the game).

And the pen did the job:

  • Brendon Little, a couple of days after leaving a game with a cramp, pitched an excellent seventh.
  • Yariel RodrĂguez, after giving up a pair of home runs in his first appearance of the season, had a terrific eighth, giving up a soft single but getting two strikeouts—a very nice job, with Buck complaining about him…
